Twenty Years In

Cory Massi, a native of Southern New Jersey, was born in July  1970. Not long after, it was apparent that this talented man had all the qualities that make for a great performing songwriter. Since 1985, at the young age of 15, he has been making people smile with his songs and stories. As a performer he is always improvising, bringing passion in new and often powerful heart-wrenching directions.

As a singer, his voice can be as smooth as an early day crooner, as rough as a blues shouter or as powerful as a modern day Robert Plant...always expressive and dynamic. As a performer, he has been compared to Jim Morrison, Steven Tyler and Mick Jagger. Though he shares qualities with all these, his artistry is unique and he has often been called the "humble" rocker because of his easy-going spirit. His songs are driven by emotion, taking the listener in directions they don't expect with melodies that are strong and simple. He was born to be on stage, singing his songs and sharing his unique view of the world.

Cory is also a talented guitarist. He plays a great harmonica, can throw down any bass or drum track and dabbles on the piano. There aren't too many instruments that he won't pick up and play without some natural ability.

This cat is always true to himself.. so what you see on stage is the natural expression of the person, not some put-on representation of what others think a “rock star” should be.

Think 1970's rock-n-roll and you've got the right idea as to where his influences lie. Zeppelin, Humble Pie, Free, Frankie Miller.. the list goes on for miles. Feel free to contact him- he'll talk your ear off musically!

Cory has been concentrating on writing and recording in recent years- while maintaining life in the corporate world. His recent audition for INXS has rekindled his yearning to be back onstage, to be back inside the moments of performing, and to bless us with his amazing journey.
